The numbers don’t lie… Do they?
From the Wall Street Journal:
Although Canada has a population smaller than California, 830,000 Canadians are currently waiting to be admitted to a hospital or to get treatment, according to a report last month in Investor’s Business Daily. In England, the waiting list is 1.8 million.
This is such a flawed argument, I can’t believe its thrown around. Think about it, 1.8 million people in England waiting for care out of a population of 58 million. That’s 3.1 percent. In Canada, its 830 thousand out of 33 million, that’s only 2.4 percent.
In America, 47 million people do not have health insurance. My guess is that every single one of them is waiting for care. That’s 15% (FIFTEEN PERCENT!) of our population, without adequate health care.
And you know what each one of them is doing?
Driving up the costs for everyone else.
Honestly, I can’t see any logic in not having some sort of universal health care plan. Can anyone else?
